E-comm Procedures Video
In E-Comm our groups choose a topic based on Procedures we felt were necessary for ONW students to know how to do. My group choose to use bullying as our focus for the video, even though we knew it would be hard to fit such a crucial topic into a 30 second video.
We started in the planning phase with our story boards, we planned which shots we would need and what order we would need them in. Next we decided roles. I was the victim of the bullying and Drew, John, and DJ we the main Bullies.
Next we started filming. We started with the shot of me opening the locker. We stacked up textbooks to make sure I was centered in the frame. We started recording and them I opened up the locker, which ended up being a problem we didn't notice until editing, because the camera didn't have time to adjust to all the new light that entered the frame. Next we shot the shot of me being thrown into the trash can, which I didn't use in my final video because I didn't fell like that shot fit well within the video. Next we filmed the shot of me running from the Bullies and being pushed when I got to the bottom. It didn't hurt when I got pushed but I had a bruise on my hip for about a week after but it was worth it to make sure our video was as good as possible. After the shot we panned over to Olivia running into the library to report the Bullying she just witnessed. We then filmed different angles of her typing and signing into the computer then finally reporting it.
On the editing process I felt like I did well but my grade says otherwise. I didn't go above and beyond on any categories and my video ended abruptly. The audio ended abruptly as well so I got a 74%. Something I need to improve on is my audio editing. While editing the video I also chose not to use the last shot of us walking in the hallway because I felt it didn't fit well within the video but for the next time I'll make sure to have one. Overall this project didn't go to well but I now know things that I need to improve on for next time.
