E-Comm Final

E-Communication has been a fun 4 years, and it is sad to see it end. Takeaways from E-Comm Senior Year Technical Skills - One of the biggest areas of improvements I have had throughout this year of E-Comm is with my editing skills. I've taken on the duties of Editor for many of my projects this year, and I was able to hone my skills and get to a place where I am proud to show off my editing. Communication - Communication was a struggle amongst all students this year with how often we had to switch the schooling style, from all online, to hybrid, to all in person. This made it difficult for us and lead to us having to communicate in different ways, whether it be through E-Mail, text, etc; However I feel like this struggle greatly improved my ability to communicate with other people. Collaboration - Collaboration is another part of E-Comm that was made hard this year due to the pandemic. However me and my groups were able to work together through different ways and work together on

2020 Film Reel

At the end of 2020, we created the first round of our yearly film reels. My film reel was created with the intent to present myself as an editor, and a bit of my directing work. I feel like my reel did a good job showing off my editing, and that was given back in my feedback.      My reel was comprised of my best shots, and my best editing of those shots together. I feel like my editing style did have an impact on my reel, and made it unique, and original. In the film reel, as mentioned above, I presented myself as an editor and a filmmaker. I choose to brand myself as an editor because it is what I believe I am strongest at as an E-Comm student.     While creating this film reel, I had an original product, that I went back and edited to add more pieces of work into, and if I were to redo this I would try my best to add even more films into my reel. For this piece of work, if I were to do it again, I would keep the editing the same.     Even though I don't have many pieces of

E-Comm Commercial Project

Commercial Project Overview     For this Commercial project my group decided to make a Snickers Commercial. Snickers commercials usually involve a main  character, that faces a problem due to being "hungry", which is then fixed due to them eating a Snickers. This is the concept we attempted to recreate with our own Snickers commercial.  Pre-Production     The whole process of our commercial started with Pre-Production. We started with the story boards. For the story boards, we got a rough idea of what we wanted to do and put it into picture form with a sentence or two explaining what was happening. Next we created our script. For this project we wrote the script differently than normal, we did something similar to the story board, where we have a little imagine showing what happens in the shot, but we had speaking lines in the side instead of explaining what was going on. We also took this pre-production time to work on shooting locations and try and get in contact with acto

2020 Film Reel       The story I was trying to portray through my film reel was Teenage Life. The production roles that best represent my brand are Director and Editor. I occasionally take the role of Cinematographer as well. For this film reel, I only used shots from "The Date". I did this because I wanted to use only shots that I myself had shot, but I would use more material next time because my film reel lacked diversity due to that. On the other hand I used shots throughout my film reel that I felt had the strongest Cinematography, and lighting. I also would add some speaking lines to my film reel if I were to do this again. Even though I only used "The Date" for this film reel, I still took different shots and reorganized then and reedited them so it also showed off my editing talents. I wanted to try and make it feel very different from "The Date" even though I only used shots from my short-film, and I feel like I did that pretty well. Again if

"The Date" Shortfilm

The Date The short film I worked on was "The Date". The script we chose to create was my script. My original concept was a date that went wrong, and it ended up basically the same way I envisioned it. Once I finished writing the script we went to storyboards, location scouting, and tried to find actors. Once that was finished, we started filming. We filmed over 3-4 days due to limited sunlight, and it ended up being a problem due to it snowing between shoot days. Then I spent many hours editing at school and at home, then turned it in. For this project I was, writer, director, cinematographer, and editor. I learned a lot throughout this project, since it was my first time being the lead in every production role. My biggest take away was how important pre-production is. I knew it was important before, but more than ever I learned how important it is to plan ahead. I knew the Premiere software pretty well, but I learned more about how to create the project the way I wanted i

Junior Year Video Class Final

Entertainment Video Semester 1        This semester of Entertainment video has been my favorite semester of E-Comm so far throughout high school. So far this semester I've had to step up and take on more challenging roles that I haven't had to in the past, and I've enjoyed every second of it. Camera Assignment 1        Camera Assignment 1 was our my first project as a junior, and the first project as a whole for the class. At the beginning of the year most people in this class didn't know each other, so it was fun to meet new people and find other people to work on a short film with. I ended up being in a group with Carson, Seth, and Malik. We created a short film called, The Cola Predicament. This project took us 2-3 weeks to complete. Since this was my first project as a junior, and I was working with seniors, it was hard to find a place to fit in, where I could contribute to the film the best as I could. One thing that I learned from this assignment is tha

Graphic Design Final

Graphic Design Final       The first project we did that I really enjoyed was the Poster Design project. This project was an advertisement we created for a made up event, that was to take place in the Sprint Center. This project took around a week and a half to do in class. A big challenged I faced was how to make the all the info need, like the time, date, location, etc; all fit into the poster without making the poster seem to crowded. Originally I wanted to use this font that looked cool and fit the theme for my poster, but I switched it after my teacher suggested it, because made some letters and the @ sign look very distorted. Originally in my design I wanted to have a very bright and color poster, but I found this nice picture of Adam Sandler that worked really well with a dark background, so I decided to go with a darker colored theme. Overall I'm happy with my poster design but wish I spent a little more time with blending everything in and making sure everything
